Jenifer Elder

Performance Reporting Advisor, Wagener-Lee, LLC<br>Client Services Associate RJFS

Darlene Melcher isn’t just a longtime Wagener-Lee employee. She’s been a Wagener-Lee client since the mid-1980s.

Family means everything to me. I am the fourth Wagener to be a part of the team and am thrilled to be here. I knew in my heart that this was the right move, not only for me but also for my family. Joining Wagener-Lee was something my dad, Rick, always hoped for. It wasn’t until my sister, Amanda, asked me directly that I knew it was time to join the family business.

I come to the team with 25 years of experience in project management, operations, and business development. In Client Service Operations, my goal is to understand every aspect of the business to bring innovative solutions with a focus on client needs. By taking a bird’s-eye view of operations, I plan to evaluate workflows and streamline our processes.

I am not just a visionary or a doer; I am a blend of both. My analytical skillset and knack for translating complex ideas into relatable experiences allow me to connect with people. I have a love for helping people and a passion for building community.

Stepping into this role at Wagener-Lee, I’m entering the third act of my career. For 17 years, I worked at MDA Information Systems LLC (formerly Earth Satellite Corp.), where I credit most of my professional growth. During my time there, I began as a Geospatial Analyst and worked my way up to Deputy Director of Defense Intelligence Programs. My second act was with the Virginia Department of Corrections as the Family Services & Wellness Program Manager for incarcerated populations. I believe all my previous work experiences were building blocks to prepare me for the world of finance. Throughout my professional career, I’ve gained the confidence and skills to handle any tough situation.
